Joel Seaman

Artist Bio

Joel Seaman received a BFA from Tufts University in conjunction with The School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts.  He worked for eighteen years as a cabinet maker, ten of those as Master Cabinet Maker at Hancock Shaker Village.  A 1998 visit to Japan inspired his return to photography, both of which have been passions since his youth.  He has exhibited photographs across the Northeast since 1999.  Images from his Malus series were published in the May 2012 issue of Gastronomica Magazine.  His recent work can be viewed at joelseaman.com

Artist Statement

This series captures the Clearwing Hummingbird Moth’s symbiotic relationship with Bee Balm during their dance beneath the sun with gives life to both.
